Safe in Des Moines IA

The total estimated distance between Rocky Mount, North Carolina and Des Moines, Iowa according to MapQuest is 1,206.30 miles. The total estimated number of hours of driving time is 19 hours and 16 minutes. That is a long ride for a twelve-year-old girl to be in the company of a registered sex offender.
Jodie has been missing for 5 days. That is 120 hours. It appears they took a leisurely drive to Iowa; perhaps stopping at a few motels along the way…
I do not think Jodie is coming out of this experience unscathed.

The Interview with Patrie and Slick
Notice: Wednesday September 21, 2005
I appreciate all who have read this blog entry and all who have posted comments after reading the entry. I feel I need to comment here based on some of the comments received. Some are under the impression that I am a member of Evelyn Miller’s family. I want to make it very clear that I am not a member of her family, nor am I related in any way to anyone involved in the story I blogged about. I am a person who became interested in Evelyn’s disappearance and murder just as many of you have become interested and are awaiting the apprehension of the party or parties involved in her murder.
My blog title is The Missing and Murdered Children. I take an interest in many missing and murdered children stories. I am sure you will agree with me that having to state that I take interest in many of these stories is a sad commentary on the state of our society/nation. Richard Christie, Evelyn’s grandfather, placed a link in one of his blog entries to connect it to this story because he felt I had something to say about the subject. I appreciate that he placed that link to bring you to read the story and my opinion about Patrie and Slick. At this point, that is all it is opinion. Hopefully we will find out soon who the guilty party or parties are so that they can be taken out of our society and at the same time give Evelyn and her grieving family some sort of justice. I have been forwarding your comments to Richard Christie. I am letting you know that I have been doing that because I feel that Richard has a right to read what people are saying. If you want Richard Christie to see your comments quicker than he has been getting them from me, then may I suggest that you leave your comments regarding this blog entry, Fisking the Interview with Patrie and Slick at his blog, Memories of Evelyn Miller?
I encourage you to also return and read my other entries that I make, if you wish to do so.
Thank you,
