A Little Girl’s Princess is Dead

Earlier today, I blogged about a 4-year-old girl named Valerie who was looking for her mother. She was left on a street corner last Sunday morning by her mother’s boyfriend. Authorities were able to determine who the girl was and who her mother was by locating the girl’s daycare records.
They located the boyfriend, Caesar, and questioned him over a two-day period. Today he was charged with second degree murder in the death of little Valerie’s mother. Apparently he choked her to death last Saturday night, placed her body in a plastic bag and left her inside of the apartment for two days. He then dumped her bagged body on a pile of garbage on a street in the borough of Queens. He has yet to give a reason for the murder.
Valerie keeps asking for her mother. Now, someone has to tell the little girl that her mother will never be back. The Mommy who she loved so much, the Mommy she said “looks like a princess” is dead. She will also have to be told that she cannot be with Caesar who she calls her “daddy”.
According to authorities Valerie was well taken care of; there were no signs of abuse or neglect when she was examined; fortunately she was the exception to the rule.
The selfish action of one man has affected so many lives. A mother and father have lost a daughter. Most likely grandparents have lost a granddaughter. Friends and co-workers have lost a friend. Everyone’s life will change in some way; their lives will never be the same.
Valerie is left without a mother to nurture and to guide her in her life. Valerie is robbed of her mother seeing her grow up, attend her first prom, wipe her tears when she loses her first boyfriend, sharing with her when she falls in love with the man she will marry, her wedding day, the birth of her first child.
Most of all, Valerie has lost her princess.
