AZ Amber Alert - Isidro & Noemi Ramirez
An Arizona Amber Alert was issued yesterday by the Maricopa County Arizona Sheriff’s department after an alleged kidnapping of a mother and her 1-year-old son.
The alleged kidnapping occurred outside of the woman’s home at approximately 4:30 a.m. Her roommate claims she saw the woman being forced into the truck outside of the residence by two men. One man was known to the roommate, the other man remains unidentified.
It is unclear to authorities whether the woman went willingly or was forced to go with the men. It is also unclear whether the woman knows either of the men or if this is some sort of domestic dispute. The witness claims that after the woman was in the truck she yelled out of the window “I’m going to California”. She thought the situation was unusual and called 9-1-1.
I am a bit confused about this story on a couple of levels.
It was 4:30 in the morning and it is very cold in Arizona at that time of the day. However, the woman was wearing just a tank top and pants. The baby is dressed in only a t-shirt and a diaper. The vehicle in the abduction was loaned to the adult victim by a former co-worker.
Why was the woman outside at that time of the morning with her baby? Why was the baby only dressed in what sounds like sleeping attire? How did the alleged kidnapper gain access to the keys?
If this is a real abduction I hope the mother and child are located safe and the abductors apprehended.
If this is not a real abduction I hope the mother of the child has common sense enough to phone a family member or friend to let them know she is OK.
Apparently some television viewers in the area of the amber alert are a little annoyed with the frequency that their prime time television programs were interrupted last night in order to broadcast the amber alert.
A few television stations were deluged today by phone calls from angry viewers. Quoting from the article:
“…Some Valley T-V stations have been swamped today with calls from angry viewers that their favorite shows were interrupted by constant broadcasts about a missing woman and her baby…”
I don’t know how other people feel about their television programs being interrupted by amber alerts but I don’t mind the interruptions. I live in California and my opinion is in this state the amber alerts broadcasts are not done with enough frequency. We are lucky if our programs are interrupted once or twice during an active amber alert for our area. The other fault I find with the California Amber Alert broadcasts is most times one cannot understand the broadcast because the sound quality is so poor. The last thing the woman was said to have been yelling was “I am going to California.” Interestingly enough California has not broadcast an Amber Alert for this case as of tonight and it has not been broadcast on news stations in the Los Angeles area.
