The Dog is Innocent
Houston Police have finally decided they have enough evidence that the family dog is innocent regarding the mutilation of infant Holden.
Holden’s mother was taken into custody today when she showed up for a child custody hearing. According to this news story published on Click2Houston.com, quoting Estella Olquin with Child Protective Services:
“My understanding is that she was arrested on charges of injury to a child in connection with the injuries that Holden sustained with the mutilated genitals,…”
The photo pictured on the left is of Holden’s mother, Katherine Nadal, being escorted into custody. Click on the image to view a larger image. In my opinion she looks rather annoyed with the whole ordeal. It is almost as if she thinks this arrest is much ado about nothing – that what she did to her son was no big deal. Of course this is just my opinion but a show of tears rather than appearing annoyed may have helped the situation.
I would rather think that this new mother cut off her son’s genitals because she was in the throes of a drug-induced psychosis rather than to think she did this out of pure spite or evil intent.
Holden is now 10 weeks old and doing better; he is still living with his paternal aunt. The family court judge approved Holden’s father moving into an attached apartment at the Aunt’s home so he can spend more time with his son and aid in the rehabilitation process.
Holden’s father still needs to prove himself as a fit parent to Child Protective Services and the court. He has to prove that he can keep Holden safe for the remainder of his childhood before he is given the honor of taking on the responsibility of raising him.
As for Katherine, well she is being held on $100,000 bond.
