image of Analyce GuerraTwo-year-old Analyce Guerra was reported missing by her mother on April 23, 2006. According to Analyce’s mother, she and her children arrived home at about midnight. She and her children fell asleep in various areas of the living room while watching television. When the mother awoke at approximately 4 a.m. to get a drink of water she noticed that Analyce was no longer in the room and the front door was unlocked.

A massive search of the area ensued including a statewide Amber Alert. A body of water nearby the apartment building was drained and searched for a second time but Analyce was not located.1

On January 4, 2008, walkers in Stones River National Battlefield stumbled upon a human skull near the Civil War memorial. Investigators set up a 19 hour search of the area where more remains were located. Those remains were sent to a forensic lab to determine age, sex, and a possible cause of death. Today the results of those tests were made public.2

Those remains, found in the Stones River National Battlefield, according to DNA comparison are in fact the skeletal remains of 2-year-old Analyce Guerra.3

When the remains were located in January, some news organizations reported that the remains may be those of Analyce Guerra. Analyce’s mother was angered by the news reports and stated she believed her daughter was still alive.

When the story broke about Analyce’s disappearance I did not blog about it because I felt the story was untruthful.

According to a search I conducted on Google Earth the distance from the Guerra home to the dumping ground is approximately 11 miles or a travel time of approximately 20 minutes.

I am sorry to hear Analyce’s body has been found but I am not surprised. I hope that authorities can quickly find the sick person or persons who decided it was a good idea to murder a baby and throw her out like trash on the side of the road.
