Circumstances:

Saginaw police received a call this evening and were asked to do a welfare check on a female relative who had not been heard from during the day. When officers arrived on scene they found the the woman deceased in the home located on Mackinaw. The deceased woman's three daughters were missing and it is assumed at this point they were abducted by the estranged husband of the deceased woman, Jose Angel Olguin. Police believe the girls to be in extreme and immediate danger. They also want to question the estranged husband regarding his wife's death, it has been ruled a homicide. It is not known at this time when the assault took place so the suspect and the children could be just about anywhere. There is the possibility he could be headed to Indiana, Texas, or Mexico. If you see the suspect or the children you are asked to call 9-1-1 immediately and state you have an AMBER sighting.

The Olguin siblings were located with their father and unharmed in a car in a neighboring county. According to police and as reported by the Detroit News, they received a tip that led them to the girls and their father. The police took custody of the girls and placed Jose Angel Olguin in custody. He has not been charged with any crimes.
Police also released the name of the girls' mother, who is deceased. Her name is Erica Olguin. The reason family members were so worried about her yesterday, aside from the fact they had not heard from her was that she failed to pick up her 11-year-old son from school.
According to police Jose Olguin claims he took his three daughters to Elkhart, Indiana on Monday to visit relatives. I am wondering why the 11-year-old did not get to go and why the two school-age girls were not in school and allowed to go with their father. Of course their could be many reasons why things happened the way they did but what I am thinking is the 11-year-old went to school earlier than his sisters. Maybe his mother took him to school and was surprised by Jose when she returned home. Maybe Erica agreed to allow Jose to take the girls to Indiana for the day and when she returned home she was surprised by an intruder who took her life. Time will tell how this story unfolds. As it stands now, four children have lost their mother and the fate of their father is the unknown factor. I am glad the girls were found safe.

More information has been revealed in the press regarding the apprehension of Jose Olguin and the recovery of the Olguin siblings after the activation of the AMBER Alert.
On Monday morning Jose left the residence in Saginaw, Michigan; and headed to Elkhart, Indiana where he has relatives. He arrived in Indiana and then decided to go back to Michigan and turn himself in to authorities. However, upon arriving in Oakley, Michigan, he changed his mind and turned back towards Indiana. It was in the Oakley gas station that he was spotted by a woman getting gas and she made the call to 9-1-1 after recognizing the vehicle from the AMBER Alert.
A Michigan trooper traveling the opposite direction spotted Jose's vehicle and turned around attempting to make a vehicle stop. According to the officer, Jose was less that cooperative with the procedure making it necessary for the officer to break the driver's side window of the vehicle to get Jose out of the vehicle. He was taken into custody without further incident.Jose Olguin has made some statements that will make it easier to put together a case regarding the murder of Erica Olguin; Jose remains a person of interest in the murder.
Neighbors who were interviewed for the story by various news outlets praised the Olguin family, including Jose. They say they were a close-knit family who talked often about going to church and visiting relatives. They never saw a hint of trouble. Apparently the 11-year-old boy was Erica's son from a previous relationship. Jose and Erica were the biological parents to the three girls.
As of this writing, Jose has not been charged with any crime.
